I was co-opted into the board in 2009 and am currently the General Manager of a fuel and oil distribution business, Allied Petroleum and have held previous senior management roles with Pacific Brands and BP Oil.

Married to Gendie with three children - Rachel, William and Nicholas, who is attending CBHS. I am an old boy of the school and Adams House.

I am interested in business and leadership, and am a member of the NZIM and Institute of Directors.

I am a keen golfer and have been involved with children’s sports teams over the years.

I was elected to the Board in March 2007. I have 3 children - a girl and two boys. My eldest boy Jamie Foley is in Year 12. I am a consultant working on a variety of financial and strategic projects . Prior to this I was Chief Executive of the Banks Peninsula District Council where I was responsible for leading a team of people to deliver infrastructural and community services to residents.

I am a qualified chartered accountant and am experienced in financial management and planning, policy and strategy development, and human resources management.

I was co-opted onto the CBHS Board’s Resources Committee in February 2006 to support the development of the Ten Year Property Plan. I was then co-opted as a full Board member August 2006 and in the 2007 & 2010 re elected to the CBHS Board of Trustees, and with this being a member of the Resources and Audit Committees.

Our eldest son, Stephen, completed year 13 in 2007, and our second son Mitchell is in year 12.

I was involved with the CBHS Rugby Club since the start of 2003, with six years as the clubs Chairperson. Involved with the IXV International Festival Tournament since its inception in 2004, Chairperson since 2006.

Prior to that, I had a very enjoyable association of ten years, with the Cashmere Scout Group - five years as the Chairperson and five years as the Group Leader.

I am currently employed with a trading company TCL Hunt Ltd, as Business Manager, having also held sales and marketing management positions with Donaghys Industries Ltd and AEP Industries Ltd.

I was elected as a new board member in 2010. I am married to Heather and we have two sons and a daughter. Our eldest son Anton, left CBHS at the end of 2007 and our younger son Connor is in year 11 in 2010. Our daughter Māia is in year 9 at Villa Maria College and I am a newly elected board member at Villa Maria College too.

I have previous educational governance experience at CPIT (2000-2010) and Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Whānau Tahi (1998-2010).

I am grateful to CBHS for the opportunities it has afforded our sons and am interested in supporting the school to continue offering quality education to all of our boys as they transit through to becoming young men.

I am employed by the Canterbury District Health Board as the Executive Director of Māori and Pacific Health. I am a speaker of te reo Māori as well as a tutor of mau taiaha and a nidan (2nd degree black belt) in Seido Karate.

I was elected as the Staff Trustee on the CBHS Board in June 2009. I began teaching at CBHS in 1993 taking up the position of HOD Physical Education, having previously taught at Shirley Boys' High School for 5 years. I remained in this role until 1997 and I also had a PR in Staff Appraisal for several years.

I was a member of the Sports Committee for 3 years and have acted as Chairperson on the Sports and Cultural Awards selection committee for several years.

In 1998 I was appointed Manager of Adams House, the school's boarding hostel. During my 12 years at Adams House I have presided over many changes, the most notable being the 18 month redevelopment of the facility. I am a member of the Adams House Committee (formally the Adams House Board) and treasurer of the Adams House Parents Association.

From 1998 until 2006 I continued to teach a senior Physical Education class and have been on the Guidance Committee since 1998. My co-curricular involvement in the school has been extensive. I have coached Rugby for 16 years including the 1st XV for 7 years, winning 5 Press Cups, a National title and a World title. I was heavily involved in the development of the CBHS Rugby Club and the 1ST XV rugby festival and have been on both of those committees for many years. I have also coached Cricket, Volleyball and Kayaking.

I am currently completing a Degree in Social Science from the ACU National University in Australia. The degree majors in residential care of teenagers. My wife Toni & I have three children, Tom who is in Year 9 at CBHS, Sophie and Sam.


Ruth Williams

I was elected to the Board in May 2010.
Married to Mike - we have 3 sons at CBHS - Years 9, 11 and 13. We live on Banks Peninsula so all three boys board at the school's hostel - Adams House.

I trained as Veterinary Surgeon at Bristol and worked as a small animal vet in Christchurch until 2000. Now we farm sheep and beef and I also do some off-farm horse work related to my background as a veterinary surgeon.

I particularly enjoy horse riding as well as following the boys' sport - cricket, tennis and squash
