Yr 11 - Semi-formal Dance - Important Information

The Year 11 semi-formal dance is in the CBHS gymnasium on Friday 15 September 2017. A letter of invitation to your son and his partner with important guidelines for the evening is below, just click on the link(s).

It is however important to extend to you the following :

Ticket Information

  • Boys are encouraged to invite a partner. The cost of a couples ticket is $50. The cost of a single ticket is $25. A single ticket is not available to students of other schools.

  • Students who are taking a partner are to provide their partner's full name and school. A letter will also be forwarded to the partner’s parents via their school containing important guidelines to the evening also.

  • The tickets will be available to be purchased after school in Room T3 Monday 28, Tuesday 29th and Thursday 31st August (cash/cheque only).

Dance Information

The dance runs from 7.30 p.m. until 10.30 p.m. Coats, bags etc. will be left in the check-in area and will be kept under supervision.

A light supper will be provided as well as photo booth and DJ.  Dress is smart casual.

It is important to note that students who have consumed alcohol will be refused entry. Pupils will be breathalysed with no tolerance to alcohol. Cigarettes, alcohol and other such substances are obviously not allowed at the function, and students caught in possession of any such things will be asked to leave. We reserve the right to ask anyone attending to turn out pockets and/or open bags. Should they fail to comply entry may be declined.

In the event of anyone being asked to leave the function, their partner must also leave, parents will be contacted and asked to make appropriate arrangements.

Please discuss these issues specifically with your son to avoid the disappointment of an early end to their evening.

Please understand that we will actively supervise your son during the time he is at our function. We do not condone or encourage any pre or post dance parties.

These guidelines are similar to those in effect at any such school function, and I am confident that they will help ensure a successful and enjoyable evening for all who attend.
