Homestay Agreement

Conditions on the Provider

The Provider agrees to: provide continuous board, consisting of a heated single bedroom and study facilities, three meals per day, a daily shower, clean linen, towels and personal laundry at least weekly and to actively support the boarder’s personal, social and academic life.

The Provider may not make private financial arrangements with the boarder unless approved by the Guardian.

The Provider will forgo 66% of the board payments when the boarder is away from the home for more than three consecutive nights.

The Provider should make contact with the Guardian if there are any problems.

Conditions on the Boarder

The Boarder has agreed: with the Guardian to behave with consideration and courtesy at all times in the home of the Provider.
Including:
Punctuality for meals or notification if going to be elsewhere at mealtimes.
Notification of expected time of arrival home when going out. And any other reasonable rules of the homestay provider.

The Boarder has agreed: to reimburse the Provider any additional expenses not covered by this agreement within one week following the incurred expense.

The Boarder will not smoke or drink alcohol without the written permission of the parents and the host family.

The Boarder will not have friends stay in their rooms unless permission is obtained from the host parents first. All friends are to be introduced to the host family.

If the family of the Boarder visit and wish to stay with the host family, this will be arranged if possible at a pro rata basis of $40 per day.

Termination of this Agreement

Notice of 14 days must be given if this agreement is to be terminated, unless there are extreme circumstances beyond our control

The Homestay provider is aware of and agrees to abide by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Ministry of Education. Copies of the Code are available on the New Zealand Ministry of Education website at http:www.minedu.govt.nz
