2023 Maadi Cup
The 2023 edition of the Maadi Cup was held on Lake Karapiro over Summer Tournament Week, and is the culmination of six months hard work and commitment from all the rowers who attended.
Hopes were high for the CBHS contingent after a strong showing at the recent South Island Secondary Schools, and while many of the crews finished just outside podium placings the school had 11 crews competing in A finals at the end of the regatta. An A final is recognition for a top eight finish in the event rowed in.
A finals – U17 coxed eight, U18 coxed quad sculls, U16 coxed four, U18 novice coxed eight, U15 coxed eight, U18 coxed four, U18 novice coxed four, U16 coxed eight, U15 coxed four (two crews), U18 coxed eight (Maadi Cup)
The school came away with three silver medals from the regatta – U15 coxed four and U15 coxed eight, and the U16 coxed eight.

- U15 coxed eight – Ryan Hong, Jamie Kamo, Hugo Parnham, Charlie Greenslade, Patrick O’Regan, Jack Dennehy, Harvey Moyle, Rueben Fifield and coxswain Sam Moffit
U16 coxed eight – Danny Webb, Harry Hegan, Ollie Browning, William Mackay, Ben Rowe, Will Harrington, Riley Blaken, Harry Cooke and coxswain Grayson Faulkner.
Congratulations also to Grayson Faulkner, Liam Macpherson and Jacob Yule for gaining selection to attend the South Island U18 trial.
