Old Boys
Who we are
The Boys’ High Old Boys’ Association was established on the 19th of July, 1912. Our chapters throughout New Zealand aim to keep Old Boys in touch with the school, and each other. The Old Boys have a website, see the link below.
Boys’ High students have moved on to become some of New Zealand’s most highly regarded leaders, academics, sportsmen, and community servants.
If you are an Old Boy and would like to receive newsletters and information from the Old Boys please provide to the secretary Chris Carthy your email address, mobile phone number and current address (there is no joining fee).
Altiora Peto Medal
The Altiora Peto Medal is awarded to a living Old Boy who best reflects the school’s motto Altiora Peto – ‘I seek higher things’ – and who will serve as a role model to the current boys of the school.
The award is made at the Founders Day assembly in May and the recipient is invited to address the boys.
Nominations can be made by emailing the school or the Old Boys Secretary Chris Carthy
Old Boy Memories (shared during COVID)
During COVID lockdown many Old Boys spoke of their days at school, what they enjoyed the most and the friends they made along the way
