Michael joined CBHS as Head of English and has subsequently been Specialist Classroom Teacher and run literacy and SOLO professional development projects.
Born in Dunedin but shifting to Christchurch to complete his secondary education, Michael graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Diploma of Teaching from the New Zealand Graduate School of Education.
A huge football fan, Michael has played national league football, captained Canterbury representative teams and coached in a multitude of competitions from the junior National Youth League all the way down to his son’s Year 9 team at CBHS. After retiring from football playing, Michael is now an endurance enthusiast having completed the Coast to Coast, marathons and ultra-marathons, and half-ironman triathlons.
Michael is proud that his son has been educated at CBHS and is a firm believer in modern education within the traditional values and framework of boys’ education.
