CBHS Athletes taste success at National Track and Field Championships


Six CBHS students trekked north to Hastings for the National Track and Field Championships. Will McMeeken, Beau Brackenridge, Levi Murdoch, Jordan Veitch and Asher Pettengell-Brand competed for NZU18 titles and achieved some great success over the two day competition.

Asher Pettengell-Brand won 5 medals – Bronze 100m (PB of 11.00) / Gold 200m (22.33)/ Gold  4x400m relay team (3.26.66)/ Silver 4x100m relay (43.55)/Silver 110m hurdles (14.98)

Beau Brackenridge – Silver 300m hurdles (time 39.86) / Silver 4x100m relay (43.55)/ Bronze in the 110m hurdles (15.15)

Luke Johnston placed 10th in the 3000m smashing his PB by over 20 seconds in 8.52.90.

Jordan Veitch – Gold 400m (50.13) / Gold  4x400m relay (3.26.66)

Levi Murdoch – Silver in the High Jump (1.91m) / Bronze Long Jump (6.38m)
