CBHS vs Westlake BHS Exchange

The school competed against Westlake BHS this week in the second summer annual exchange.

Cricket:

After a washed-out day 1 on Sunday, CBHS posted 184 all out on Monday after being asked to bat first on Straven 1. Henry Rumball the standout with 85.

In reply Westlake made 59/9 declared with Nick Smith, Alex Kirkland and Chris Ellison all taking 2 wickets each. At sumps Westlake were 12/1 after having been asked to follow on.

On Tuesday Westlake made a better start, looking to bat through the day and salvage a draw. However, a flurry of wickets after lunch saw Westlake all out for 137 and  CBHS only requiring 12 runs to win in the final hour, which they did with the loss of only one wicket.

Two outright wins against Auckland Grammar and Westlake is a great result for the 1st XI.

Golf:

It is evenly poised on Monday after the first round at Pegasus Golf Club with Westlake leading CBHS 3 ½ to 4 ½ in an even exchange. On day two however, played at Russley, Westlake asserted their dominance winning 7 -1 to take the exchange 4 ½ – 11 ½.

Tennis:

Our tennis boys found it tough going against a very professional and older Westlake tennis squad. With four juniors playing in the team this year the boys weren’t able to win a match over the two days, but they will be better off playing against some tough opposition.
