Cultural Activities

Overview

At Christchurch Boys' High School, the arts programme is a vibrant cornerstone of student life. We celebrate creativity, self-expression, and collaboration, empowering students to thrive in a range of artistic and cultural pursuits. Whether it’s performing on stage, creating visual masterpieces, or engaging in cultural traditions, our students are encouraged to explore and excel in their chosen passions.

Music

Inspiring Musical Excellence

Music thrives at CBHS with opportunities for students to explore a range of styles, from choir and jazz ensembles to orchestras and rock bands. Our itinerant music programme offers expert tuition on various instruments, guided by experienced professionals.

With a modern recording studio and Apple iMacs, students can engage in music and sound technology, exploring composition and production during school hours.

Drama

A Stage for Every Talent

CBHS Drama fosters creativity and confidence through diverse opportunities. From Year 10, students can study drama as a subject and participate in events like the Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival, theatre sports, and our annual ‘Big Night Out.’

Behind the scenes, students can join technical crews to master lighting, sound, and stage management or explore film and media production.
