The PTA wish to invite you to attend a Healthy Lifestyle presentation – tea and coffee will be provided.

Dr Kelly Dale (PhD) is a sleep physiologist and sleep researcher. Currently, she is conducting a number of research projects, looking at interventions to support healthier sleep in different workplaces, such as farmers and in the construction industry. Kelly has a particular interest in young people’s sleep and wellbeing and has worked with a number of schools and Universities, conducting programmes to support healthier sleep in students, staff and families. Kelly also works at the Sleep Well Clinic, seeing patients for sleep conditions, including obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia and delayed sleep phase.

Overview: How to help teenagers with healthy sleep:

It is important that parents/ guardians are supportive of healthy sleep practices in their teenagers. During this presentation, we will discuss the healthy sleep guidelines for teenagers, practical strategies to support your teenagers with achieving healthy sleep, what are the disruptors of sleep, promoters of sleep, the importance of sleep role-modelling, red flags to look out for in terms of possible sleep conditions and insufficient sleep (in both your child and your own sleep) plus there will be time for any of your sleep related questions.
