National Athletics Championships

 CBHS was well represented in the Canterbury Athletics team that competed in the New Zealand National Track and Field Championships in Wellington over the weekend. With nine current students and five old boys in the team it indicates the current interest and strength of our current athletics programme.

There were some outstanding results over the weekend, none more so that James Moore who won the national U18 title in the shot put. In a remarkable performance James threw a personal best of 17m 17cm.

Our sprinters were also to the fore with Sacha Tahi and Jordan Veitch taking gold as part of the winning 4x100m and 4x400m teams; joining them with a gold was Hunter Scott 4x100m team and Ollie Singleton 4x400m team.
