NCEA Examination period delayed by two weeks – Impact on sanctioned events

26 Aug 2021

The Ministry of Education and the NZQA announced yesterday that the NCEA external examination period will be delayed by two weeks, starting Monday 22nd November to Tuesday 14th December.

The disruption caused from COVID over the last few weeks has seen thousands of students miss out on crucial curriculum window time. The delay allows schools and students more time to prepare for external examinations and submit internal course work.

In support of this Kaupapa, the board of School Sport NZ has resolved that no sanctioned events may continue to be delivered within the delayed examination window.  Click here for the events impacted as a result
