South Island Secondary Schools Rowing Championships

Rowing Squad

The last big hit out prior to the 2023 Maadi Cup was held in Twizel last weekend. The full squad of CBHS rowers competed on Lake Ruataniwha from 10 – 12 March in The Meridian South Island Secondary Schools Rowing Championships.

This regatta is a culmination of nearly six months hard work and training for the whole squad before the Maadi squad heads to Lake Karapiro during Summer Tournament Week 27 – 31 March. There were some great results across all the age-groups and some quiet optimism leading into the Maadi Cup.

Nine crews returned home with medals with a further 11 crews making it through to A-Finals (top eight).

Congratulations to all the crews who medalled with special mention of the U15 Coxed Four and Eight crews, along with the U16 Coxed Eight crew who won gold medals.
