We offer a number of services for our students including learning support, counselling, and sport therapy
You can also find out about in-school printing, account information, the canteen menu, the school fitness centre and the parent portal here.
The Student Service Administrator is situated in the STRAVEN BLOCK (at the main entrance to CBHS on the right hand side of the front gates).
If your son is going to be absent please email absences@cbhs.nz or ring Student Services on 348 5003 (school’s main line) then dial option 1 and leave a message
COVID – If you test positive, it is no longer mandatory to isolate or wear a face mask. Please return to school only when well enough. If requested you may need to wear a face mask, to respect those at higher health risk.
Absentees, lateness, signing out, first aid, lost property (delivery to school of your son’s lunch, sports gear, forgotten items of clothing etc.) are all handled by the Student Services Administrator

Day to day absence:
- Download the Christchurch Boys’ High School app for either Apple or Android. You will then need to use your parent portal logon details. Enter the absence from your phone.

The Public Health Nursing Service – Student Health Team School-based is a free and confidential health support for students. We are a team of Registered Nurses with knowledge, experience and training in student health. We work as a team throughout the High Schools within Christchurch City to improve health and promote wellbeing.
Our team can be accessed through a student lead appointment booking system outlined below. We look forward to working with you throughout the year.
To book please text 021 580 443 with your full name, year and school, and the team will arrange an appointment.

All Year 9 students are able to access a school locker. You must provide your own durable padlock. It is recommended that a spare key is kept with the Student Services Administrator. There is no charge for the locker. Application form
Embroidered blazer pocket awards
Initial award – Once you have received the school letter bring it to the uniform shop. The cost is $25 this covers the cost of the pocket and 1 line of embroidery, each additional line thereafter is $10.
As additional awards are received the pocket requires removal from the blazer. It is then brought into the uniform shop along with the school letter. Payment of $10 per award is required.

Parent Portal
In the CBHS Parent Portal, your username is now your email address. This change means that there is no longer any need to share a password between parents/caregivers.
Your password remains unchanged; if you know your password, you can now log in using your email address for the username. If this is your first time accessing the portal, or you don’t know your password, or your password isn’t working, please follow the ‘Forgot Password?’ steps outlined in the Portal Guide. Please enter your email address as the username when prompted.
Once you’ve logged in, you can change your password using the blue padlock icon in the top-right corner.

Accessing school accounts
You can access a copy of your latest account statement via the CBHS web portal as follows :
- Click the tab labelled Documents
- A new tab or window should appear listing family documents, newest at the top
- Double-click on a file to open it
You can also access copies of formal reports this way – click on your family name in the Folders list at the left to view student documents.

Physio is available at CBHS on Mondays (9-3) Wednesdays (9-2) and Thursdays (9-2). Get treated early for a quick recovery. Balance Physiotherapy provides a quality service by physiotherapists experienced in sports injury management and rehabilitation in adolescents.

Counselling - Wellbeing and Haurora
Counsellors are available for you to see at any time you wish during school hours, regarding any matter. The school very much encourages you to go and speak to them at any time about any concerns or problems that may be on your mind.
Careers
We have a strong Careers Department with a number of pathways no matter your interests. You can participate in Gateway programmes and gain apprenticeships in industry.
